Mississippi — United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement executed criminal search warrants at seven agriculture plants in Mississippi, resulting in the arrest of 680 illegal immigrants during the raids. According to ICE, the arrests were unrelated to an ongoing criminal investigation into worksite enforcement.
The arrests are believed to be the largest or one of the largest arrest totals in U.S. history for a single operation. The warrants executed also resulted in the seizure of business records related to the investigation. The Trump administration has intended upon cracking down on illegal immigration since Day 1, issuing executive orders, national emergencies, and new rules in an effort to succeed in the efforts.
